Hot Air Balloon Armor

Ignore the category, you do not wear this. It goes on the hot air balloon, and the Russian game text is more precise than the English one: armour for the basket. So whoever rides in it gets some metal between themselves and the people shooting from the ground.

The price is easy. 200 metal fragments at a Level 1 workbench, and the blueprint costs 30 scrap at a research table once you loot one. The balloon itself burns low grade fuel, and as far as we know the extra metal weighs it down, so it climbs slower. For a scouting hop over quiet ground, leave it off.

It pays on the flight that ends over somebody else's compound. You drift in to drop onto a roof, and the defenders get several seconds of clear shots at the basket while you line up. Plating will not stop a SAM Site from firing at you, though, so check the roofs for one before you take off.
