Overview
Single large projectile for a Shotgun.
Slugs are for the fight that starts too far away for buckshot. Picture this: you are roaming with a pump shotgun, someone with a bow is looting a barrel across the road, and you would never close that gap before they turn around. With slugs you just take the shot.
The catch is that one projectile means no forgiveness. Buckshot lands a few pellets even on a bad flick, while a slug either hits or does nothing. So they suit players who already aim well, and they suit guns that let you follow up quickly. A double barrel with slugs is awkward, because a miss leaves you with one shot and a long reload.
Pros
Cons
- Reach far beyond any pellet load
- Useful for finishing someone who is running away
- Good for hunting larger animals from a safer distance
- Every miss is a full miss
- Worse than buckshot inside a base
Most players carry both and switch depending on where they are going. Crafting needs gunpowder like any shell, so don't overbuild a type you will rarely load.
