Overview

In-game description
Sturdy work boots to keep your toes safe, you'd feel nothing if you kicked a table leg. Strong protection against the cold and incoming damage.

Look at the feet of anyone in a road sign or metal kit and you will usually see these. Boots are where most players stop with footwear: their own description promises strong protection against the cold and incoming damage, and nothing cheap comes close.

The cost sits in two places. You need a Level 2 workbench, and each pair takes twenty leather and a sewing kit, the same kits your road sign jacket and kilt fight over. Say your duo just crafted two road sign sets and has two kits left. Put them into boots for both of you before anything fancier, because feet are the last bare spot in that outfit.

Pros

Cons

  • Far more protection than hide boots or burlap shoes
  • Keep you warm on a night run through the snow
  • Research costs only 30 scrap, so a pair from loot can become a blueprint
  • Locked behind a Level 2 bench
  • Every pair eats a sewing kit
  • Come off when you pull on a hazmat suit, which covers your feet

Boots you strip from dead players go in the box, not the recycler. Breaking them down gives back only part of the leather and frags, and the sewing kit only on a lucky roll.
