Characteristics
Overview
A pie made from crocodile meat, may cause a reptile dysfunction. Boosts hunger, health and hydration. Gives better night vision, including tree markings and ore hotspots, for a short time.
It lets you farm after dark with no torch in your hand, and it gets there with crocodile meat instead of apples. The game text promises exactly what the apple pie gives: better night vision for a short time, with tree markings and ore hotspots showing. Same buff, different shopping list.
So the choice comes down to what your base has more of. A group living on a jungle river fights crocodiles at the water's edge anyway, and every kill leaves a pile of raw crocodile meat. Eaten plain, that meat is just dinner. Taken to the Cooking Workbench, it becomes a night of farming.
Picture a duo with a hut above a swamp. The sun goes down, one of them eats a pie and works the metal nodes along the bank while the other watches the water. Nothing burns in either hand, so nobody on the far hill sees them coming.
Unlike most pies it has no rich version in our item list, so the buff stays short. For a whole night without eating, night vision goggles do the job with gear and a charged battery.
