Characteristics
Overview
A delicious apple pie, always too hot. Provides a boost to hunger, health and hydration. Gives better night vision, including tree markings and ore hotspots, for a short time.
Night farming is where it pays off. After sunset you usually either hold a torch, which lights you up for every roamer on the hill, or you swing blind and miss the X on the tree and the bright spot on the node. For a short while this pie lets you skip both: the game text promises better night vision, with tree markings and ore hotspots showing.
So the routine is simple. Cook a few at the Cooking Workbench before dark, eat one when the light goes, and work the stone and metal nodes around your base with nothing burning in your hand. If ore is the goal, drink a basic ore tea on the same trip.
Night vision goggles are the gear answer, but they cost high quality metal and tech trash, need their battery charged and cannot be worn with a helmet. The pie only asks for apples and a hotbar slot. If the short timer annoys you, the rich apple pie keeps the same effect for a long time, by its own description.
