Overview
Equipping this saddle bag will add extra storage space on your horse
Strap it on when the horse does the hauling. By its game text the bag adds storage space to the horse, so a farming trip no longer ends the moment your own inventory fills up. Ore and cloth go in the bags. Your own slots stay free for the gun, the meds and whatever the next crate holds.
It is cheap for what it does: twenty leather at a Level 1 workbench, and nothing to research, since every player can craft it from the start. A couple of deer cover it, so on a fresh wipe it fits right after the single horse saddle.
Watch out
The bags ride with the horse, not with you. If it goes down in a field, whoever finishes it can loot what you packed. So never leave a loaded horse standing outside a monument while you go in: drop the haul at home between stops.
Back at base, tie the horse to a hitch and trough and empty the bags into a box before you log off.
