Overview
Raw Fish.
Whatever bit your hook, it ends up as this. A herring, a catfish or a handful of minnows all go under the knife and come out as the same raw fish, and that is the point: whole fish stack to five or ten, raw fish to twenty, so a long day of fishing finally fits in a few slots.
From there the stack has three places to go, and only two of them are good.
| Where it goes | What you get |
|---|---|
| Any fire | Cooked fish: a small boost to health, hunger and thirst |
| The Cooking Workbench | A fish pie, which adds a short rise in comfort |
| A box, for too long | Spoiled fish meat, which damages your health |
Its own text says nothing beyond its name, so there is no warning about eating it raw the way the meat has. Cook it anyway; the boost the game promises belongs to the cooked version. Say you come home from the evening check of your traps with a full bag. Tonight's dinner goes on the fire, some goes aside for pies if the group bakes, and the rest goes into a fridge instead of the nearest wooden box.
