Characteristics
Overview
An oxygen tank that enables breathing under water for a period of time. Can be refilled at a workbench. Holds 80% more Oxygen than a standard diving tank
Long dives where turning back early costs you the loot are what it is for. An underwater lab with the good crates deep inside, or a sweep of the seabed you want to finish in one go: those runs eat air on the way in and on the way out, and surfacing halfway is not always an option.
The numbers in the rows line up. Its listed recipe is exactly double a single diving tank, twelve high quality metal and two hundred metal fragments, and its durability of 1080 against 600 matches the 80% more oxygen the game text promises. But the recipe is for show: the game files say neither tank can be crafted or researched, so you get one from loot and look after it.
Pros
Cons
- Far longer dives without surfacing
- Refills at a workbench just like the single tank
- An empty one is never junk, since a refill makes it usable again
- Cannot be crafted or researched, so a lost one is gone
- You only get one when loot hands it to you
- Overkill for a quick grab near the surface
Add a diver propulsion vehicle and a long lab run fits into one trip instead of two.
Recycling
At power grid stage 2 a green recycler works at 60% instead of 50%. Yields depend on the recycler.
