Characteristics
Overview
A diving mask that provides clear vision under water at the cost of reduced peripheral vision.
Open your eyes under water without it and the seabed is a smear of blue. Somewhere down there is the crate you came for, and you will swim right past it. The mask fixes that: the game text promises clear vision under water, and at seventy metal fragments with no workbench in the row, nobody has an excuse to dive without one.
What you give up is the edges. Your peripheral vision shrinks, so you see what is in front of you and little else. That matters when a shark comes in from the side while you loot, or another diver follows you down. A speargun only helps if you see the threat first.
Tip
Turn your view more often than feels natural, and look behind you before you open a crate.
The mask looks after your eyes, not your lungs. Pair it with a diving tank and diving fins, and at night with the Abyss Torch if you own it, because even clear water goes dark.
Recycling
At power grid stage 2 a green recycler works at 60% instead of 50%. Yields depend on the recycler.
