Overview
A clipping of a Green Berry Plant.
Copy a plant you have actually looked at. Every crop shows six gene letters when you inspect it, and a clone takes all six with it, the bad ones too. So the question is never whether to clone, only which plant.
Tip
G speeds up growth, Y adds yield and H makes the plant tougher. W means it drinks more water, and X does nothing at all. A parent heavy on G and Y with no W or X is the one to cut from.
Say your first bed of green berry seeds came up as three plants. One reads mostly G and Y, one is full of X, and one sits in between. Take your clones from the first while it is still growing, and let the other two ripen as plain berries for the table.
Plant the clones in a large planter box of their own, not beside wild seedlings, since neighbours in one bed can pass genes to each other. What they give is ordinary green berries for the Mixing Table, only more of them and more reliably.
