Characteristics
Overview
Trousers made from the hide of an animal. Moderate protection against animal attacks.
Wood farm on the edge of a pine forest, the hatchet still stuck in a trunk, and a boar comes out of the bushes straight at you. Fights like that are what hide pants are made for. Their own text promises moderate protection against animal attacks, a claim burlap trousers never make, and ten leather at no bench is easy to spare after any hunt.
Against players they help a little and that is it. An arrow still hurts, a revolver still ends the argument. Their time is the first day or two, when wolves and bears are as much a danger to a fresh spawn as other people are.
Tip
The hide skirt costs the same and goes on the legs too. If a dead player leaves one behind, wear it and keep your leather.
The upgrade is a pair of pants sewn from cloth and a sewing kit at a Level 1 bench, which the game itself calls great all-round protection. Most players switch the moment a kit is spare, and the hide pair goes to the recycler.
