Thirty metal fragments is about the cheapest way to change how you look. No workbench, fifteen seconds, and the frags come out of a few barrels along the road. That price is the whole case for them.

There is nothing to learn here: every player knows the recipe from the start, so a pair you take off a dead roamer is not worth a trip to the research table. The purple sunglasses from the Twitch drop share this recipe and recycling, but their blueprint is tied to owning the item on Steam.

The game text calls them functional. Nothing in the row says what that means, and they do not read as protection, so wear them for screenshots and the walk to the outpost, not as armour. A recycler gives about half the fragments back.
