Overview
A spoiled fruit or vegetable. It's so far gone it's hard to tell what it originally was.
Treat it as compost and move on. The game text only says it is a fruit or vegetable so far gone that nobody can tell what it was. Unlike the rotten apple, it does not even promise a tiny boost when eaten.
Usually it comes off the farm. A row of large planter boxes on the roof keeps growing while the group spends a few evenings raiding. The crops ripen, nobody climbs up to pick them, and when someone finally does, the beds hand back this instead of corn and berries. The texts do not spell out exactly when a crop turns, so check your beds often.
Drop the whole stack into the composter next to the planters. The fertilizer it makes goes back into the next planting.
