Rose seeds can be found when picking wild Roses.
Plant one to test a new farm room before your food seeds fill a large planter box. Rose seeds come free with the wild roses you pick, as their text says, and a rose that struggles costs you nothing. Losing your only good crop to a bad spot costs a round.
Say you have just walled off a planter room on the second floor with one small window. You are not sure the light is enough, or whether the water from the roof reaches every box. Put a rose in a small planter box there and check on it now and then. The plant's info shows how it copes with light and water. A healthy rose means the room works. A wilting one tells you to open the roof or move the box, and you learned that without wasting a crop.
Once the room has passed, the rose can stay on as decoration. A clone copies it if you want more, and the rose you pick at the end is a flower and nothing else.
