Overview
High quality pistons for a combustion engine. Pistons convert expanding combustion gases into the motion that turns a crankshaft.
Save these for the car that lives in your garage, usually a long build on the big engine module that your group takes on trips across the map. The pistons turn burning fuel into the motion that spins the crankshaft, so this is where the best parts of an engine earn their keep.
They sit behind a Level 3 workbench and cost 120 metal fragments each. Multiply that by a full set and the bill climbs fast, which is why few groups put high pistons in every slot during their first days with a Level 3 bench. What you buy is 140 durability, more than twice the low tier, and the extra power better parts give the engine.
The small engine in a cockpit with engine takes them as well, but a two-seater you might crash or abandon rarely earns them. Keep the good car close to your modular car lift, where you change its modules, and behind a door.
Watch out
A car left on the road keeps its engine parts. Whoever finds it can drive off with your Level 3 pistons inside or pull them out on the spot. Park it in a garage, or take the best parts out before you log off.
