Overview
A Frontier Hatchet, useful for chopping trees and dismembering corpses.
Chopping trees and taking apart whatever you just killed: the same two jobs as the standard hatchet. Read both game descriptions side by side and only the name has changed. The rest of the row agrees, with a Level 1 workbench, 75 frags and 100 wood and 400 durability. That is because it is a skin of the hatchet: you craft the plain one and pick this look if you own the skin, with no research of its own.
The corpse part is the one newcomers forget. You shoot a deer near your base, run up with a rock and walk away with a handful of meat and hide. Switch to this or any metal hatchet first and the same body gives noticeably more. So on a hunt it lives in the hotbar, not in a box.
In practice the pick between this and the plain one is cosmetic. If you want more wood per swing, the Salvaged Axe is the actual upgrade, at a Level 2 bench.
