Overview
A Small Trout. Good for a few meals.
Every survival fish trap on a riverbank is set hoping for this fish. The trap's description says the more bait you load, the bigger the chance of trout, so a trap with one lonely worm in it mostly hands you small fry. The trout's own text promises a few meals from one fish, which no minnow ever did.
Picture a duo in a river hut. Before the evening farm run, one of them tips a whole stack of worms into the trap by the door instead of three or four. When they come back, a small trout is waiting. A knife turns it into raw fish, and the fire turns that into cooked fish for both of them.
Tip
Bait you could eat is still better used as bait. Grubs work in the trap too, and a handful of them is worth more as a trout than as a snack.
Ten whole trout fit in a slot and raw fish stacks to twenty, so gut them right at the trap and carry home the meat, not the fish.
