Overview
A high quality crankshaft for a combustion engine. Converts piston movement into rotational motion.
Once a Level 3 workbench is up, this is usually the first top-tier engine part worth making. It costs 120 metal fragments, fifty less than the high quality carburetor, and carries the same durability of 140.
The game's own line explains how it fits: a crankshaft converts piston movement into rotational motion. So players tend to upgrade it together with the high quality pistons that drive it, which cost the same and need the same bench.
Where it pays off: four players, a raid kit and a long car on an engine module that has to climb a hill fully loaded. A small cockpit with engine that ferries one person to the recycler can keep its medium parts.
Tip
Research costs only 15 scrap, the same as the low and medium tiers. If you pull one from a crate before you have the blueprint, learn it rather than fitting the only copy you own.

Recycling
At power grid stage 2 a green recycler works at 60% instead of 50%. Yields depend on the recycler.
