Characteristics
Overview
Ammunition for a SAM Site. This missile contains a rudimentary guidance system to help it navigate through strong winds.
You stock this so a minicopter can't just drop a team onto your roof. Loaded into a SAM Site, it lets the site fire at aircraft that come into range of your base, which makes heli roof raids far more expensive for the other side.
The site does nothing on missiles alone. It needs power, so plan the wiring and a battery or generator before you place it, and check it after every outage. An empty or unpowered SAM is just a decoration telling raiders you were worried.
Keep it topped up. The stack is huge and a single metal pipe with some gunpowder makes a whole batch of missiles, so turning spare pipes into ammo is an easy win once you are past the early wipe.
One thing catches people out: your own SAM will shoot at your own helicopter, and tool cupboard authorization does not stop it. Put the site on a switch you can flip before you fly home with loot. And don't mix this up with the homing missile, which is the shoulder-fired round for the homing missile launcher.
