One rifle body, two blueprints that want it. Put it in the bolt and the HQM bill stays well under half of what an assault rifle charges, so a group short on metal often learns the bolt first once the Level 3 bench stands. A rifle body can't be researched, though. Every one comes from a crate, a kill or a broken rifle, and the bolt you craft today is an AK you don't.
The three pipes are the quieter cost. Crafting a metal pipe takes its own blueprint plus HQM and scrap, so most groups spend the ones from road barrels and recycled guns, the same pipes a rocket wants. Set three aside for the bolt before the raid queue eats them.
Watch out
Don't feed a worn bolt to the recycler for its parts. The body comes back only some of the time, while a repair bench fixes the rifle without touching it.
