About this craft

Count gears, not HQM. One evening at the furnace covers the high quality metal for a few doors, but each door takes five gears, and three doors on the way to the TC make fifteen. A Level 3 bench can craft them, for a heap of scrap each, so the gears from crates and the recycler go into a box marked for doors.

The research order follows from that. Learn the door first and feed it found gears. The gear blueprint earns its scrap only once the crates stop keeping up, and that scrap is also what your raid blueprints want.

Hang it where it pushes a raid up to C4 or rockets, and leave the cheaper spots to a garage door. Don't recycle an old armored door after a rebuild either: only part of the gears come back.
