Handmade Shell

The shell itself needs no bench, but its gun powder does. Half the powder of buckshot per shell, and the ammo your shotgun traps run on all wipe.

About this craft

Zero bench is only half true. The shell crafts in your hands, but gun powder still asks for a Level 1 workbench, and that is the one step the calculator shows above the shell. On a fresh wipe the order is bench, powder, then shells for the waterpipe, unless you found powder in loot.

The rest of the bill is stones, which every pocket is full of on day one. A full stack costs 320 sulfur. Craft in fours: one batch of powder covers two crafts, and a single shell leaves half a batch in the box.

Don't stop making them once buckshot is learned. Buckshot doubles the powder per shell and swaps stones for metal fragments, and the shotgun trap behind your door only takes handmade shells anyway. Keep a stack for it all wipe.
