Staying alive in Rust takes more than a gun. You need food, water and warmth, and everything you build or craft starts as a resource you gathered yourself. The guides in this section cover both: how to keep your character alive and how to keep your boxes full.
Most of the economy runs on a few resources. Metal ore becomes metal fragments for tools and doors, sulfur ore becomes sulfur for everything that explodes, and scrap pays for research. One craft of gun powder takes 20 sulfur and 30 charcoal and makes 10, which is why sulfur decides how far a group can go.
