Unwrap it. The game says so in its own description, and the row backs it up: a large present stacks to one, so every one you keep eats a whole inventory or box slot. There is no bigger present above it to save for.
Getting here is the long part. Five medium presents make one large, and those come from merging small presents, so a large present usually means you played most of the Christmas event. The other top gift of the season comes from the SUPER Stocking, with the same kind of promise and the same lack of detail.
What comes out is luck. The game calls it the best there is, yet you can tear the paper off hoping for a gun and pull out a candy cane club, good for the next naked on the beach and not much more. Open it at base, next to a box, so that whatever drops does not ride around in your pockets.
