Overview

In-game description
Single module cockpit for a driver and one passenger.

Every modular car needs somewhere to steer from, and this is the cheapest way to get it: frags and wood, nothing rare. Two seats, you and one friend, and that is all it does. There is no engine inside, so on its own it rolls nowhere.

That decides the build. A plain cockpit only makes sense when the chassis has room for an engine module beside it, which in practice means three or four slots. On a short two-slot chassis the cockpit with engine does both jobs in one slot and leaves the other free for storage or seats.

A typical moment: you find a four-slot car by the road and its cockpit is nearly dead. Drive it home, roll it onto a Modular Car Lift, pull the worn module and drop a fresh one in. Sixty scrap of research once, and every car you find after that gets a new front for pocket change.

Roamers shoot drivers, though. If the roads on your server are busy and you already run a Level 3 bench, the armored cockpit takes far more punishment for a little high quality metal. The plain one is what you build early and replace without a second thought.
