Overview

In-game description
Orchid seeds can be found when picking wild Orchids.

You rarely set out to get these. They come along when you pick wild orchids, as the seed's own text says, so most players find a couple in their inventory after a walk and wonder whether to bother.

The rule is simple: never give a flower a slot your food or cloth needs. A small planter box holds three seeds, and every slot holding an orchid is a slot that feeds nobody. If the box is already full of hemp or potatoes, the orchid waits.

It can grow elsewhere, though. A seed takes in plain ground, and for a plant whose only job is to look nice, a patch of dirt by your doorway does fine. You give up the bigger harvest a watered planter brings, and with an orchid that costs you nothing at all.

If one of them comes up sturdy, a clone of it saves you looking for seeds next time. The orchid you pick at the end is the same smells-nice flower as a wild one.
