Overview
A basic scrap tea, temporarily increases the amount of scrap you receive from barrels a small amount.
Read its game text closely: it raises the scrap you get from barrels, by a small amount, for a while. Barrels and nothing else. Crates and the recycler are not in that sentence, so do not count on any extra from them.
That narrows its job down to the road run. On day one the Level 1 workbench is up, and every blueprint you want costs scrap you do not have yet. So you follow a road toward the nearest monument, smashing each barrel on the way, and a cup drunk at the first barrel makes the same walk pay a bit better.
It comes from the Mixing Table, which means a few berries and a table you placed early. Several basic cups also mix into an Advanced Scrap Tea, though on a fresh wipe one basic cup per run is plenty. Drink it right before the barrels start, because the time you spend walking to the road counts against it.
