Overview
Raw pork. Eating it will damage your health, try cooking it first.
Pork arrives as a side effect. Early in a wipe you hunt boars for their animal fat, because low grade fuel starts there, and every boar you harvest drops a few chunks of raw meat on top. Do not eat them on the spot. Its own text says raw pork damages your health and tells you to cook it first.
Picture the usual first evening: a boar grazing by your shack, two jabs with a spear, and instead of running it turns and charges you. You win with a sliver of health and a pocket of meat. That is exactly when people chew raw pork out of hunger and lose what little health they had left. Light a fire first; cooked pork restores some health, hunger and thirst by its own text.
How much meat a boar gives depends on the tool. A rock will do, but a butcher knife pulls more off the same body.
Split what is left. A group with a Cooking Workbench sets some aside for the pork pie, which speeds up healing from other sources for a short time. The rest goes into a fridge rather than a wooden box, because a forgotten stack turns into spoiled pork meat and only hurts.
