Raw Horse Meat

Food you only get by losing a horse. A tamed one is worth far more alive, so this meat should come from accidents and wild horses, never your own pen.

Overview

In-game description
Raw Horse Meat. Eating it will damage your health, try cooking it first.

Second evening of the wipe, nothing to eat, and the horse you tamed yesterday is standing right outside. Killing it would fix your hunger for a while. Do the sums first. You spent time taming it, you found a single horse saddle for it, and it is what carries you to a monument and back with a full bag. The meat feeds you about as well as any other cooked meat, and afterwards you walk everywhere.

So go find a boar or a deer, and keep the horse fed at a hitch and trough. Raw horse meat should come from horses that are already dead: one shot from under you in a fight, or a wild one caught in someone else's crossfire.

Watch out

A dead horse is a lot of meat at once. Raw, it damages your health, and left in a wooden box it turns into spoiled horse meat before you get through it.

Cook only what you will eat soon and keep the rest in a fridge. Each piece pulled off the fire in time becomes cooked horse meat, a decent meal at the end of a bad day.
