Overview
An easter egg basket. Equip to pick up eggs during an easter egg hunt with left click. Use right click to throw
No basket, no eggs. Its game text says you equip it and left click to pick eggs up during an Easter egg hunt, so the moment a hunt is called this is the first thing to grab. It cannot be crafted or researched, though: every basket comes from loot or a trade, so the one you have is worth keeping in a box between hunts.
Every painted egg you scoop goes into the pile you later trade up into bronze eggs and beyond. Right click throws the eggs away again, so keep your finger off it in the scramble. If you own a pair of Bunny Ears, put them on; their text promises more eggs in sight.
Watch out
With the basket out, your hands hold no gun, and the players who skip the hunt know it. Keep a weapon one hotbar key away and swap the moment someone runs at you instead of at the eggs.
Once the hunt ends, the basket has no other job. A red recycler gives 75 metal fragments and 22 scrap, sometimes one more, if you would rather cash it in than keep it.
Recycling
At power grid stage 2 a green recycler works at 60% instead of 50%. Yields depend on the recycler.
