Overview
A low quality crankshaft for a combustion engine. Converts piston movement into rotational motion.
Fill an empty crankshaft slot for next to nothing. Twenty-five metal fragments at a Level 1 workbench makes it cheaper than any carburetor and the same price as low quality pistons, which is exactly what you want when a car you found has its engine half picked clean.
The game sums up its job in one line: it converts piston movement into rotational motion. So it is the piece between the pistons and the wheels, and the car goes nowhere without one. With a durability of 60 it wears down sooner than the better tiers on long drives.
Picture a solo on day one who spots a cockpit with engine in a ditch, crankshaft missing. One quick trip to the bench and the walk to the next monument turns into a drive.
When fragments stop being tight, craft the medium quality crankshaft. A spare low one from loot is worth little in the recycler: a dozen or so fragments and no scrap.
