Put this bill next to the Thompson and the gap is two HQM and some wood. Same bench, same research cost, the same spring and the same body. So price never decides between them. What a Custom really costs is an SMG body that could have become the other gun.
That body is loot. Its row marks it not researchable, so whatever the calculator prices when you unfold it, yours come from crates, dead players and recycled SMGs. With two in the box, a Custom for the farm kit is fine. With one, decide who carries it first.
Watch out
Don't research both Level 2 SMGs while bodies are scarce. They share every part, the body caps both, and the scrap goes further on a pistol now or on the MP5A4 later.
