About this craft
The ropes decide when you build it. Rope can't be crafted or researched, whatever the calculator suggests when it unfolds the pair into cloth, so both come from barrels, crates and the recycler. Early in a wipe the same pair is a crossbow, which feeds you and wins fights on land, so the ramp waits until the boat really goes looking for trouble.
Rope is also what a cheap raid runs short of, since every satchel ties one in. Keep one rope box and let the ramp draw from it last. And if the fight stays at range, cannonballs cost frags and powder with no rope at all.
The blueprint is cheap and sits on the Level 1 bench, so take it in the same session as the rest of the boat kit rather than as a trip of its own.
Watch out
Don't break a spare ramp down for its rope. The ordinary recycler returns only half of it, so a ramp in a box is worth more than one in pieces.
