Somebody watched a stream at the right moment, and now he runs along the beach in a gamer headset with nothing else on his head. Its own text says it came from Rust's first Twitch drop event, and that is the whole story.

The recipe is light: ten cloth and fifteen seconds, no workbench. And despite the drop story, the game files list it as a default blueprint: every player can craft it from the start, nothing to research, so never trade anything for one. Its description promises no protection either. If you want a hat whose own text does, a baseball cap costs half the cloth, if you own that one on Steam.

So treat it as a keepsake. Wear it for screenshots or at your Twitch Rivals desk if you built one for the theme, and swap to a bucket helmet or better before anyone starts shooting.
