Characteristics
Overview
Just like mom used to make, enriched with cream. Provides a boost to hunger, health and hydration. Greatly increases the chance of better genes from crops for a short time.
Its place is the last step of a breeding run. Most rich pies stretch their effect from short to long, but this one does not: the game text still says a short time. The cream buys you a much better chance of good genes from crops, not extra minutes.
So the plain chicken pie handles the early rounds, when you are sorting a bed grown from wild hemp seeds and any improvement is welcome. The rich one waits for the moment that matters. Say several days of crossbreeding have left you one hemp plant a single gene short of what you want, and this harvest decides whether the next batch of hemp clones becomes the farm you keep until wipe.
Pros
Cons
- Greatly increases the chance of better genes, by its own text
- Still tops up hunger, health and hydration like any pie
- The timer stays short, so eaten on the walk over it is wasted
- Costs cream that a creamy tea could have used
Eat it only when everything is ready: planters watered, inventory sorted, nothing left to do but pick and cut.
