Firecracker String

Noise is what you are buying here. The string came with the Lunar New Year event, its game text is only a holiday greeting, and once lit it goes off in a long rattle of pops. Players throw it rather than set it down, and some say the crackle passes for gunfire from a distance.

That last part is the only practical idea around it. Toss a string behind a rock while you circle the other way, and a nervous roamer might look at the wrong spot. Do not count on it against anyone who has played a few wipes.

You cannot craft or research it at all: it turns up only as loot, through recycling or in trade, so treat any you find as a bonus, not a stockpile. Break one down and you get gun powder and metal fragments back. Other holiday toys sit in the Fun category.
