Overview

In-game description
Cooked Deer Meat. Eating it will restore some health, hunger, and thirst.

A running furnace is already a kitchen. Deer are the hunt you meet most in the forests, so on an ordinary evening there is a handful of raw deer meat in your pockets and a furnace chewing through metal ore at base. Drop the meat into a free slot and it cooks on the same fire, no extra wood.

What comes out is plain, honest food. Cooked deer meat gives back some health, hunger and thirst, enough to keep a farmer going between runs, and a stack on your hotbar covers the walk to the next node.

Watch out

A furnace burns for a long time, and nobody watches it the way they watch a camp fire. Forget the meat while you are out farming and you come back to burnt deer meat, which damages your health according to its own text. Take the steaks out once they are done.

When the group gets a Cooking Workbench, deer becomes pie meat too. The hunters pie is made with real deer, by its own description, and it reduces bleeding for a short time, which is worth having before a fight at a monument.
