Overview
A handy tool which indicates which direction you're facing. Will reveal your location on the map in Hardcore mode if equipped on your belt.
Craft one when you play Hardcore. Its own text says it reveals your location on the map there, but only while it sits on your belt, not in a backpack or a box. On a regular server the bar at the top of your screen already tells you which way you are facing, so most players never bother.
Picture the second night of a Hardcore wipe. You ran from a roaming group into the snow, the map shows no dot and every pine looks the same. With the compass in a belt slot, hold G to open the map, see where you are and walk home instead of guessing.
Tip
A paper map you draw on goes well with it. Mark your base and the monuments you farm, and the compass tells you where you stand between them.
The price is 75 metal fragments with no bench, and every player knows it from the start. That is almost two pairs of binoculars, which earn their keep on any server, so outside Hardcore spend the frags there.

Recycling
At power grid stage 2 a green recycler works at 60% instead of 50%. Yields depend on the recycler.
