Characteristics
Overview
A clipping of a White Berry Plant.
Every clone has a price, and you pay it in berries. Cutting clones uses up the plant you take them from, so that plant never ripens and gives the table nothing this round. In return you get several cuttings that grow back with its genes.
The trade is worth making once, for the right plant. Picture the first bed of white berry seeds coming up in a large planter box. The brewer wants every berry for tomorrow, and one plant is clearly stronger than the rest. Cut that one anyway. One plant's harvest lost once is cheap next to round after round of gambling on new seeds.
Watch out
Do not clone the whole bed to be safe. Every plant you cut gives no berries, and a clone of a weak plant is exactly as weak as its parent.
The rest of the bed ripens as usual and goes to the Mixing Table as plain white berries. Next round the cuttings fill the box, and from then on you only give up a plant when a better one turns up.
