About this craft
The bench is the odd part of this recipe. A road sign jacket and its kilt sit at Level 2, a bed and a small backpack at Level 1, yet the kit they all need waits for the Level 3 workbench. Until then kits come from road barrels, crates and the clothes you recycle.
Once Level 3 stands, the research costs pocket change and the kit becomes a rope problem. Each one takes three, and no bench crafts rope: the calculator unfolds it into cloth, but every coil really comes from barrels, crates and recycled gear. More than fifty recipes take kits, and armour sets the count: a metal chest plate and a facemask together take fourteen kits, which is 42 ropes. That is a lot of road barrels.
Tip
Box every rope from the first day, and recycle spare bows, ladders and barricades for theirs. The cloth for the kits themselves is the easy part: a small hemp patch covers it.
