Before Level 3, every Python costs three pipes, and three pipes are three revolvers. That is the honest exchange rate early in a wipe: one hard-hitting sidearm for one player, or a cheap gun for each of three. Most groups take the revolvers first and the Python once pipes start to collect.
Later the picture flips. The recipe has no body, unlike the semi-automatic pistol, so once your Level 3 workbench stands and the pipe and spring blueprints are learned, you can build Pythons on repeat from HQM and scrap. Unfolded, the parts add 110 scrap per gun, the number to plan around.
Tip
At Level 3, learn the spring blueprint early. Pipes are craftable by then, and the spring is the last part between you and a Python made entirely at home.
