About this craft
Rope is the whole recipe. Wood you farm in a minute, but rope cannot be crafted at all, whatever the unfolded calculator shows with its cloth and Level 2 bench. Every coil comes from barrels, crates and the recycler, and the satchel charge wants one too. So the ladders a group carries to a raid are paid for in the same rope as the satchels that open the wall.
The blueprint is a cheap Level 1 pick, and it is worth learning early even if you never plan to climb anything: every ladder hatch, frag or armoured, eats one ladder, and without this blueprint the hatch recipes go nowhere.
Tip
A ladder left over after a raid is rope in storage. The ordinary recycler returns one rope, sometimes two, and half the wood: keep the ladder if a hatch is planned, break it down if a satchel is.
