About this craft

Settle the targeting computer before anything else. The calculator unfolds it into tech trash and a Level 3 step, which is why it reports 7 HQM and a Level 3 bench, but no bench turns those into a computer: every one comes from a crate. As its own price tag shows, it is worth more than the rest of the desk put together.

So the real question is turret or station. An auto turret eats the same part, and most groups feed the turret first. The station gets the next computer, once a camera or two already watch the base.

Tip

The research tile counts only the station's blueprint. The RF Broadcaster and RF Receiver are blueprints of their own at the same Level 2 bench, so learn all three in one run, or the desk waits on a part nobody can craft.

Don't recycle a station to get its computer back. The recycler returns it only some of the time, and a lost computer means another crate run.
