Overview
A construction tool turned deadly.
Fresh wipe, you have a bow and a pile of metal fragments, and nobody around you owns a gun yet. That is the nailgun's moment. You know the blueprint from the start, it needs only a Level 1 workbench, and the scrap in the recipe is the only thing that slows you down.
It fires nailgun nails, which you can craft from fragments in your inventory without a bench. The nails are slow, though. Past short range you have to lead your target a lot, and each nail does little damage on its own, so the fire rate is doing all the work.
Pros
Cons
- No research or blueprint hunting needed
- Fast fire rate wins fights against bows and spears
- Cheap ammo you craft on the move
- The scrap cost hurts in the first hour
- Slow projectiles miss moving targets at range
- Outclassed the moment someone pulls a revolver
Many players open with a crossbow shot and finish with the nailgun. As soon as you can afford a revolver, swap. It hits harder, and its bullets actually arrive where you aimed.
