Pickles

Found, eaten, forgotten. Pickles come out of loot, not out of a recipe, and nothing in the game asks for them later. The jar is a snack for the road, in the same family as the can of beans or the can of tuna you pull from a crate. The recycler has nothing to give for the jar either.

The game text calls them cucumbers jarred by an amateur and tells you to eat at your own risk. Read that as a joke on the label rather than a warning: unlike raw meat, its text never says it damages your health.

The honest use goes like this. You are halfway between two monuments, your hunger bar is blinking, and this is what you have in your pocket. Eat it. Food you can plan a wipe around sits elsewhere in the food list.
