Overview
Lighter, faster arrow that deals less damage.
Grab these for range. A wooden arrow drops hard once the target is a few dozen metres out, and you end up aiming at the sky. High velocity arrows fly flatter and arrive sooner, so hitting a player running across a road or a deer at the edge of a field gets a lot easier.
You pay for it in damage. Each hit does less, and you feel that in a close bow fight where one heavier arrow would have finished the job. So most players carry both: plain arrows for anything near, a stack of HV for anything far.
They shine in a crossbow or a compound bow, where you take slow, aimed shots anyway. On a hunting bow they still help, but the bow itself becomes the limit. They also cost metal fragments, and early in a wipe those frags may be better spent on a pickaxe and hatchet.
