One player with the skin is enough for a whole clan. Orange is a skin of the plain sky lantern, with no blueprint or research of its own, and only an owner sees it in the crafting menu. Once crafted, though, the lanterns are ordinary items: hand them out and anyone can light one from a torch.
So pool the materials with the owner. Everyone drops cloth and low grade fuel into one box, and the owner queues the batch in fours so the fuel splits evenly. Mixing orange with other colours in the same order changes nothing, because the bill is identical.
The orange lantern carries nothing extra: same slot, same flight. You pay only for the colour your group flies.
