About this craft
Count gears, not wood. The wood is one short farming run. The two gears are what stall the gate on a fresh wipe, because crafting them waits for a Level 3 bench nobody has yet. Break every road barrel on the way home and the gate goes up the evening the walls close.
The blueprint is a cheap early pick at a Level 1 bench. That makes it the gate a group learns first, well before the stone gate with its Level 2 bench and five gears.
Watch out
If the stone ring is only a day away, skip this craft. Gears built into a wooden gate are gone once the stone one replaces it, and two gears are a lot that early.
