Salvaged Sword

One metal blade and a pinch of frags at a Level 1 bench. Unfolded it is 45 frags and 10 scrap, so the blade blueprint makes this sword disposable.

About this craft

A single metal blade carries this craft. On day one it comes out of a road barrel, so the sword waits on luck. Once a Level 2 bench and the blade blueprint are in, the blade is just frags and a little scrap, and losing a sword in a fight stops mattering.

The early question is where your first blade goes. A paddle wants the same one, and the longsword wants two. Unless a kayak trip is planned for tonight, the sword gets it: it outlasts both, and its blueprint costs very little scrap.

No blade yet? A machete needs neither a bench nor a blade and covers the first hours. Craft the sword the moment a blade drops, and keep the next one in the box.
